THE PRODUCT
PhysioPilot® is a non-invasive system for assessing joint kinematics. It provides the essential information needed by clinicians to improve patient care and maximise outcomes.
Our current product quantifies standard clinical measurements and assessments of knee joint kinematics in real time. PhysioPilot® is easy to use, giving a better understanding of knee joint kinematics and improving recovery. Derived from OrthoPilot®, the leading surgical navigation system with 20+ years of validation in around 500,000 surgeries.
Future versions will focus on other joints, such as hip, ankle, shoulder and elbow. PhysioPilot® will truly personalise healthcare, reducing joint degeneration and socioeconomic burden.
HOW IT WORKS

EASY
SET UP
Proprietary stiff elasticated straps and tracker mountings are used to fix LED trackers to the thigh and shank. These have been developed to minimise soft tissue artefacts.
The camera unit is placed on a tripod in a suitable position and connected to the computer software.

QUICK
REGISTRATION
The computer interface (software) guides the user through the set up and registration required.
The lower limb is registered by collecting both anatomical landmarks using a calibrated tracked pointer and joint kinematic centres.

FULL
ASSESSMENT
Once the registration is complete the clinician can carry out their usual assessment of the knee joint.
The software displays the kinematic data in both numerical and graphical formats allowing the clinician to truly understand the knee.
ABOUT US

OUR STORY
For many years Surgiconcept Ltd has been building up extensive expertise in the field of joint kinematic assessment and the use of measuring devices to improve the understanding of knee joint kinematics. After years of research and validation, Surgiconcept have developed PhysioPilot® which can register, record and analyse joint kinematics. The ambition is not only to facilitate optimal patient outcomes after injury, surgery or for sporting performances, but also to reduce the socioeconomic burden of an incapacitated joint.

OUR VISION
All practitioners - physiotherapists, occupational therapists, sport medicine doctors, osteopaths, sports therapists, orthopaedic specialists - will find the PhysioPilot® easy-to-use to assess their patients, giving them a better understanding of knee joint kinematics and improving recovery. PhysioPilot® quantifies standard clinical measurements and assessments as they are carried out displaying the results in real time so that the clinician immediately knows how the knee is behaving. PhysioPilot® measures, registers, records, analyses and displays precise individual data that are not currently accessible.

TECHNOLOGY
PhysioPilot® builds on the extremely successful OrthoPilot® device, which is the world’s leading navigation system for joint replacement and first in the world for knee replacement, having been used for around 500,000 surgeries since its introduction in 1997.
PhysioPilot® uses a modern optical tracking system to capture the spatial position of markers attached to the patient. The nexonar® tracking system used is the next generation tracking technology, a proven product that has been used extensively in the high-end automotive industry (BMW, Audi, Daimler) and other leading industrial companies
